Douglas of the County of Orange and State of North Carolina being in sound mane and of disposing memory do make this my last will and testament. makeing null and void all other wills heretofore make by me, Item I given to my beloved wife Mary A. Douglas during her natural life, or widowhood my home plantation, Containing 531 acres more or less being anxious that the family should remain together, my will is that George L. Douglas, Thomas L. Douglas, and William A. Douglas, Shal farm the Land, willed to their Mother. that they Shal have the use of my two horses my waggon And Geer that they Shal Support the family as heretofore, and then divide the surplus proceeds equally between them. In the event of my wifes Marriage or death, the land willed to her Shal be equally divided between William A. Douglas Duncan M. Douglas, and Fanny L. Douglas To my wife I give five beds and furniture to dispose of as She thinks proper. My Cubboard and contents at her death, to go to Fanny. also my wardrobe. Item I give to my wife my Cooking Stove and all other Cooking utensils to be hers absolutely: in the event of the death of either of the three named Children the Share of Such child to go to the survivor or survivors of them. I give to my wife four Milch Cows and Calves and stock of sheep. [page 2] Item I give to George L. Douglas and Thomas L. Douglas jointly the remaining portion of my mountain tract of land, Containing 150 acres more or less, bounded by the lands of Isaac Holdens heirs, Thomas H. Turners heirs, and George Waken Provided however, that the Said George L. Douglas and Thomas L. Douglas pay to my son Stephen A. Douglas the sum of $200, Two hundred dollars, within two years after my decease Item I give to my oldest Son by my first wife John C. Douglas on dollar having given him an ample Share before he left this Country. Item I give to my son Samuel P. Douglas, five dollars in addition to what I have already gave him The remaining property not will in this instrument I desire to be appropreated to the payment of my just debts. And lastly I do hereby constitute and apoint my beloved wife Mary A. Douglas and George L. Douglas, executors of this my last will and testament and every part and clause of the Same, according to the tue intent and meaning thereof in testimony whereof I the Said Adam M. Douglas have hereunto set my hand and seal this 5th day of September in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and eighty two.
