                         March the 31st 1884
               
                         The last will and 
testment of Malaha Crabtree

                         I Mahala Crabtree of 
the County of Orange and State of North Carolina
am feeble in body by sound in mind
I do will and bequeathe to Bettie A. Roberts
two Shawls, and two little baskets. I allso will
and beqeathe to Bett A. Roberts all of my wearing
apparrel, and allso; my daughter Janes wearing apparel
I allso will and bequeathe to her four paper 
boxes including Janes band box with all their
contents.  I will and bequeathe to Lucy J. Whitaker one
blue flowered jar.
I allso will and bequeathe to Mahala Bacon
one pair of shoes

I allso will and bequeathe to public or private Sale
as much of my property as it may take to pay
my burial expenses
   
I allso will and bequeathe tomy son Wesley 
T. Crabtree all the remainder of my property
including my land. cow. hogs. household and kitchen
furniture.

Note: This is perhaps a holographic will?  The format is 
very unusual, and the "M" has a unique curl on it that 
appears to be the same throughout, including the signature.
