Will of Duncan Carrington - 4 Oct 1874 Original Will, on file in Raleigh, NC Archives CR 073.801 4th Oct 1874 I Duncan Carrington of the County of Orange & State of North Carolina being in a precarious condition from an injury received by a fall from a wagon - but being blest still with a sound mind & disposing memory do make this my last will and testament. Item first - I give & bequeath to my sister Charity Carrington her heirs & assigns forever one Hundred & fifty acres of land including the dwelling & out houses of the home place where we have resided for years - the land to be so run off as to secure to the said Charity Carrington fire wood [page 2] & timber for necessary repairs & fencing. Item Second - I also give and bequeath to the said Charity Carrington her heirs & assigns two thousand dollars in money The remainder of my property after giving to the said Charity Carrington one mule & one horse a wagon & gear & the farming utensils now on the plantation, with two milk cows & a years provisions & support, I desire to be equally divided among my other heirs according to the law of the land I appoint James Bacon of the County of Orange & State of North Carolina Executor to this my last will & testament Test.
